Optical Telescope Hosting
In cooperation with Purple Mountain Observatory and for mutual research benefit, ASTRONOC provides hosting services to organisations seeking an observation node in the Southern Hemisphere and the African longitude. Our domes are custom-built locally for wide FoV applications, and our dome controllers can be remotely operated by the user or by the host via our dome-control app. The facility houses full weather stations, sky quality meters, allsky cameras (including an Alcor OMEA3C) and a Cyclope seeing monitor. Telecsope control software can be linked to the onsite Boltwood Cloud Sensor.
Telescope Dome Design and Manufacturing
Our domes are designed by ASTRONOC and manufactured locally in South Africa, together with the customised piers for attaching the telescope mounts. The domes are designed for wide FoV applications, and operated via our dome control app. The app allows for automatic scheduling of dome open/close, auto-close on rain as well as a range of additional weather-related settings.
